Michael Hager

Michael Hager has been Head of Cabinet of Commissioner Dombrovskis, Economy and Productivity; Implementation and Simplificationsince since December 2024.
He joined the Commission in 2004 as parliamentary affairs coordinator in DG MARKT and became Assistant to the Director-General in DG MARKT in 2005.
Afterwards he held the position of Member of Cabinet in the Cabinet of Vice-President Wallström until 2010.
As of 2010 he became Member of the Cabinet of Commissioner Oettinger for three years, then became Head of Cabinet until 2019.
From 2019 to 2024 he held the position of Head of Cabinet of the Executive Vice President Dombrovskis, “An Economy that works for People”.
Before joining the Commission, Michael Hager was Assistant to Brigitte Langenhagen MEP.
Michael Hager has a MA in History, Political Science and Japanese Studies.
